I have the honor to cheerfully recomend Samuel A. Miller 2nd Lieut of my Battery as worthy of promotion to 1stthe 1st Lieutenancy now vacant, occasioned by my promotion to the Captaincy,
He is and has been since I became acquainted with him, (which was when the Battery was organized) one of the most punctual, capable and efficient of Officers and I have no hesitancy in saying, he will at all time uphold the honor and credit of his state and country.
