Lexington, Kentucky, artist and soldier. Nicholasville, Kentucky native. Son of Daniel Branch Price and Elizabeth Crockett Price. Married to Mary Frances Thompson Price in Jefferson County, Kentucky, on May 26, 1853. Father of Sallie T. Price, M. B. Price, and Robert Price. Artist in Lexington in 1850. Portrait painter in Lexington in 1860. Owned one enslaved person in Lexington in 1860. Served in the 21st Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a colonel from October 31, 1861, to December 9, 1865. Brevetted brigadier general on March 13, 1865.
