Olmsted County, Minnesota, soldier. Ohio native. Son of Lewis Miller and Susan Miller. Student in Wayne County, Ohio, in 1850. Farmer with Lewis Miller in Olmsted County, Minnesota, in 1860. Served in the 2nd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private from March 6, 1862, to January 1, 1864. Served in the 1st Kentucky Light Artillery Regiment (U.S.A.) as second lieutenant, lieutenant, and captain from January 2, 1864, to August 1, 1865.
