This day Came the attorney for the Commonwealth and the Deft filed a Demurer to Indictment Demurer Overruled to which Opinion ^of^ the Court Deft excepts, Deft filed Plea not guilty and thereupon Came a Jury towit: James R White, H C Thomas, E. E. Veech, Isaac Pirtle, Tho^s O. Hill, W. H. Parrish, Amos Stinson, Henry Kerr, Augustin Higdon, Elijah Clubb, John Cubbage, George Horn, Who were Sworn to try the issue Joined, and Returned the following verdict towit; We of the Jury find the Defendant Guilty

It is therefore adjudged by the Court that the Commonwealth Recover against the Deft the Sum of fifty Dollars as a fine for said offensce also her Cost herein Expended & may have Execution &C, There was appended With the verdict of the Jury the following. We of the Jury that tried the within Indictment. Resepectfully ask the Govenor to Remit, the fine against the Deft, the proof Was that, the minor to Whom the liquor was sold was at the time, a married
man, with a Child, house Keeping, and Keeping a house of entertainment on premises belonging to the Defendant, He was nineteen Years Old, So that the Deft, might have had no Knowledge that he was a minor, and Was not therefore guilty of a violation of the Spirit of the Act, but was Caught by the letter, Wherefore we ask the fine may be Remitted
