His Excellency the Governer of Kentucky

The undersigned W. A Aikman Respectfully represents that at present August Term of the Laurel Circuit Court he was fined $20. for gaming, He says he is not a gambler, but merely played the game with some acquaintances and friends and there was some small amount but, he is a citizen of London Ky has a family to support, and makes his living by blacksmithing & not by gaming,, He thinks the costs of the proceeding under the circumstances would be a sufficent penalty,

He made no defense, plead guilty, and now throws himself on the clemency of ofthe Executive

I am well acquainted with the petitioner, who is a citizen of our Town, an industrious blacksmith, a poor man with a family to support & I hope your Excellency will remit the fine against him
