J J Wells of the offence of failing to Keep a good and Sufficient County Jail for Muhlenberg County committed as follows. towit The Said County Court on the 15" day of May 1860 did fail to Keep. a good and sufficient county Jail for Muhlenberg

This day came the attorney for the Commonwealth as well as the attorney for the defendants; And the attorneys agreeing that Judgement might go against the defendants for Fifty Dollars each, It is therefore adjudged by the Court that the Commonwealth of Kentucky recover of the defendants W G Jones, C D Morehead Jesse Millard Absalom Low M B Clark H P Welborn J L Spurling John Downing J J Wood and J J Wells the sum of Fifty Dollars each and her costs herein expended

The undersigned members of the bar, of the Circuit Court in Greenville Ky very Respectfully request his Excellency the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to remit the fines imposed upon the members of the Muhburg County ^Court^ at the present term of s^d Circuit Court, for failing to Keep a suitable Jail Preparations are being made as we are informed to erect a new jail & we belileve the members of the County Court postponed the erection of a new County prision for prudential motives
