To his Excellency Governor Beriah Magoffin, Your Petitioners respectfully shew that John G. Shrock, late a Justice of the Peace in and for the 1st Magisterial District in the city of Covington in the County of Kenton has resigned, We beg to say that Joseph M Ransom is a gentleman of legal information, unimpeachable integrity, and otherwise well qualified to fill the office. You will confer a favor upon this community by filling the vacancy immediately, as Sqr Shrock did nearly all the business of the District, and until his successor is appointed nothing will be done,
