Dear Sir

We the undersigned officers of the 11" Ky Cavalry having received information of the acceptance of the resignation of A J Alexander as Lieut Co^l of this reg^t do recommend & request, the vacancy so occasioned be filled by the appointment of Milton Graham 1^st Maj of the regt, If however Maj Graham's health will not allow him to accept the appointed or if for chance, somthing should prevent you from issuing to him the commission, Then we request that you appoint some one of age & experience in the field, someone who has served with & undergone ^all^ the hardships of the regt since it's organization, For we honestly believe the appointment of any one else will greately cripple the efficency of the regt,
