The undersigned Citizens of Henry County would represent to yr Excellency — that some 3 or 4 years ago a man named M Moneham and his Wife [...] Moneham fell out & quarrelled — that the Wife had her case heard before a Justice & said M Moneham had to give security to appear before the Circt Ct — that Madison Ireland & W. M. Brown [...] Went into the recognizance — that the recognizance was forfeited — that Sums issued & Judgt was rendered therein agt said Mad Ireland & W M Brown [...][...][Exo] now in the hands of Shff on Jugt for $50 — & Costs. — that the said M Monham and his Wife very Shortly after the recognizance was entered into made up all their difficulties & lived together & are now gone as man & wife and are now in peace — They were both of foreign birth that the Comwealth is satisfied in this respect — The defts in [Exo] say that they were ignorant as to the law of the case & ignorant of the Jugt untill the Shff the other day called on them for payt of [Exo] — We believe and are satisfied the fine should be remitted — The defts have helpless families & want all they can make to support them. We state that We are well acquainted with the above facts.
